What if the Rapture you have been expecting,
is not what is really going to happen?
Many have been told that
Jesus is coming to Rapture
or take up all the believers off the planet
before a 7 year tribulation period.
That is what I was taught
as a young believer by my elders.
And that is what someone
had previously taught them.
The origins of this myth,
and what the Bible really says
about the coming 3 1/2 year
( or 42 months )
period of the End Times
has been discussed in detail
in several previous posts linked below.
The Danger of this teaching
is the fact that the church
i.e. born again believers in Jesus Christ
as God who saves,
will not be ready to endure to the end
as spoken about in the Bible.
In Luke chapter 21,
Jesus tells us what we should expect
before He returns.
He encourages believers to be brave.
In verses 25 - 28 of chapter 21,
we read:
And there will be signs
in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars;
and on the earth distress of nations,
with perplexity,
the sea and the waves roaring;
men's hearts failing them from fear
and the expectation of those things
which are coming on the earth,
for the powers of the heavens
will be shaken.
Then they will see
the Son of Man coming in a cloud
with power and great glory.
Now when these things
begin to happen,
look up
and lift up your heads,
because your redemption draws near.
and continuing in verses 34 - 36
we see belivers are told to be watching,
and praying.
we read,
But take heed to yourselves,
lest your hearts be weighed down
with carousing, drunkenness,
and cares of this life,
and that Day
come on you
unexpectedly.
For it will come as a snare
on all those who dwell on the face
of the whole earth.
Watch therefore,
and pray always
that you may be counted worthy
to escape all these things
that will come to pass,
and to stand
before the Son of Man."
Now you might say,
the time of the Rapture is a secret event,
and no one knows the day or the hour.
I agree,
that the exact day
and hour of the return of Christ
is not known.
But we are to be watching for it,
and ready for it.
Therefore this is not going to be a surprise event.
At least not for the true believer
who has been anxiously looking for
and awaiting for His return.
You have likely heard many times
His return is like a thief in the night.
And this is true for those that don't expect him.
Those who are in the dark
will be surprised.
But we should NOT be surprised.
We belong to the Day.
Paul makes this very clear in
1st Thessalonians
chapter 5 verses 1 - 11
we read,
But concerning the times and the seasons,
brethren, you have no need
that I should write to you.
For you yourselves
know perfectly that
the day of the Lord so comes
as a thief in the night.
For when they say,
"Peace and safety!"
then sudden destruction comes upon
them,
as labor pains upon a pregnant woman.
And they
shall not escape.
But you, brethren,
are not in darkness,
so that this Day should overtake you
as a thief.
You are all sons of light
and sons of the day.
We are not of the night
nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep,
as others do,
but let us watch
and be sober.
For those who sleep,
sleep at night,
and those who get drunk
are drunk at night.
But let us
who are of the day
be sober,
putting on the breastplate
of faith and love,
and as a helmet
the hope of salvation.
For God did not appoint us to wrath,
but to obtain salvation
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
that whether we wake
or sleep,
we should live together with Him.
The 7 bowls of God's wrath
mentioned in Revelation Chapter 16,
are not something the believer needs to fear.
In this chapter
we see that
The wrath of God is going to come upon those
who had the mark of the beast
and those who worshiped his image
Again,
not upon those who have trust in Christ
as their Savior.
John Baptist mentions the wrath of God
as something that the unbeliever will face.
In John 3:36,
we read,
He who believes in the Son
has everlasting life;
and he who does not believe the Son
shall not see life,
but the wrath of God
abides on him."
To make sure you are READY
for what is to come,
The questions you might ask yourself are,
Have I believed in the Son?
Meaning to trust in Him as your Savior.
Do I know I have eternal life?
Something that begins when you believe
and can never end.
Do I believe my sins were paid for by Jesus?
Realizing no amount of good works
could ever give you
the Just Standing before God,
that Jesus gives as a gift
to those that are relying upon Him.

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He who promised is faithful.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some,
but exhorting one another,
and so much the more
