The Prophet Isaiah and the Rapture

The Prophet Isaiah and the Rapture!

There is no rapture mentioned in the writings of the prophet Isaiah.
Chapters 24 through 27 are full of end times prophecies.
And it is here
that we find instruction
as to what
we are to do
when His wrath comes upon the earth.

In Isaiah chapter 26 verses 20 and 21
we read,

Go, my people, enter your rooms
    and shut the doors behind you;
hide yourselves for a little while
until his wrath has passed by.
21 See, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling
to punish the people of the earth for their sins.
The earth will disclose the blood shed on it;
the earth will conceal its slain no longer.

And at the end of Chapter 27 in verse 21 we read,

And in that day a great trumpet will sound.
Those who were perishing in Assyria
and those who were exiled in Egypt will come
and worship the Lord on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.

The Seventy Weeks of Daniel - When is the Last Week

The 70 Weeks of Daniel - When is the Last Week?

Taking a look at Daniel's 70 week prophecy,

at the end of chapter 9,
you will not find a 2000 year "gap" mentioned,
nor any division of "ages" or "dispensations".
*
In Daniel chapter NINE verses 24 - 27,
we read,

24 Seventy weeks are decreed
about your people and your holy city—
to bring the rebellion to an end,
to put a stop to sin,
to wipe away iniquity,
to bring in everlasting righteousness,
to seal up vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most holy place.
25 Know and understand this:
From the issuing of the decree
to restore and rebuild Jerusalem
until Messiah the Prince
will be seven weeks and 62 weeks.
It will be rebuilt with a plaza and a moat,
but in difficult times.
26 After those 62 weeks
the Messiah will be cut off
and will have nothing.
The people of the coming prince
will destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end will come with a flood,
and until the end there will be war;
desolations are decreed.
27 He will make a firm covenant
with many for one week,
but in the middle of the week
he will put a stop to sacrifice and offering.
And the abomination of desolation
will be on a wing of the temple
until the decreed destruction
is poured out on the desolator."
( HCSB )

You will likely find some of this hard to understand.
As do all bible scholars
when it comes to the exact meaning of each Hebrew word in this passage.

Most bible scholars would agree the 7 x 70 weeks refers to 490 years.

Referencing how long it would be until the Messiah would come.
Namely after the 7 weeks + 62 weeks which works out to 483 years.

And that is He "cut off" sometime after the 62nd week.
Possibly in the middle of the last week ( the last 7 year period ).

The total period of time is 70 weeks ( 70 x 7 ) or 490 years.

I would add the fact
that the passage does not justify
the common "theory"
that a whole age,
meaning the "Church Age"
or the "Dispensation of Grace"
must be INSERTED between the 69th and 70th week.

But that is what you'll hear many people teaching.
Usually because that is what they were taught.
It's not because the scriptures teach it,
as can be seen when plainly reading the passage
without any preconceived notions.

One of the biggest "debates" in this passage,
is the question of WHO is the one making ( or confirming ) a covenant,
whether it is Christ
or the antichrist.
I believe it is Christ.

He put an end to the need for sacrifice and offering
because He was the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
And the veil in the temple to the holy of holies was torn in two when he died on the cross.
You can see this mentioned in Matthew 27:51

Many believe His ministry lasted 3 1/2 years.
That would put His crucifiction in the middle of the last week
Which is the last 7 years of the 490 year prophecy.

And it is proposed that the early church grew in Jerusalem
for 3 1/2 years after Christ's death and resurrection,
until the stoning of Stephen.
see Acts chapter 7.

And in Acts chapter 8 verse 1 we read,
On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem,
and all except the apostles
were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria.

It was after this dispersion of the early church
that you will see the sharing of the Gospel with the non-Jewish peoples of the world.
That is when some believe the 490 years ended,
and in less than 40 years later,
in 70 A.D,
the temple would be completely destroyed.
And this destruction is foretold in Daniel 9:26.

The exact date of the Decree
which is the starting point for counting the 490 years,

The exact years of Jesus ministry,
( When it began and how long it lasted )

And the exact year of the stoning of Stephen
are all facts you will find to be
highly debated by bible historians.

I've spent a lot of time researching these topics,
and I believe Satan has done a good job at confusing this issue.

The best research I've come across so far concerning these dates
can be found in the book
by Dr. Floyd Nolen Jones,
"The Chronology of the Old Testament"
see: pages 236 - 240 in the 2004 copyrighted text.

He references many of the great bible historians,
and provides lots of reasons for his
"best guess" dates.

The following is my current "best guess"
for the possible dates
as they relate to Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy,

That the "word" or "decree" was issued in
454 B.C. by Artaxerxes,
see Nehemiah Chapter 2 verses 1 - 8.

And 483 years later,
At the end of the 7 + 62 weeks of years,
we see the baptism of Jesus,
in what could be the Fall of 29 A.D.
Signifying when Jesus was identified as the Lamb of God
who takes away the sins of the world.

Luke 3:22 we read:

and the Holy Spirit descended on Him
in a physical appearance like a dove.
And a voice came from heaven:
You are My beloved Son.
I take delight in You!

3 1/2 years later the Messiah is Cut off
When Jesus is cruxified in the Spring of 33 A.D.

and it's possible the end of the 490 years expired
in the Fall  of 37 A.D.
with the Stoning of Stephen

Again, if you do some research on these dates,
you will find others proposing slight different Years.

I've seen the years 30 A.D,
32 A.D,
33 A.D. and 34 A.D.
all asserted as being the year of Christ's Cruxification.

Again, Satan seems to have gone to great lengths to "muddy the waters"
on this issue.
And God has allowed the exact dates to be less than clear.
Possibly because He knows how man loves to Speculate and Predict
what God has planned.

For now...
Don't get too hung up on these historical dates,
What really matters for us
at this point and time,
is the future return of Christ.
Whether it be in our life time,
or some future generation.

AND there are plenty of clear scriptures that will help us
KNOW when the End Times are TRULY upon us.

Therefore, I'd like to close
with 1 Thessalonians chapter 5,
verses 5 - 11

For you are all children of light, children of the day.
We are not of the night
or of the darkness.
So then let us not sleep,
as others do,
but let us keep awake and be sober.
For those who sleep,
sleep at night,
and those who get drunk,
are drunk at night.
But since we belong to the day,
let us be sober,
having put on the breastplate of faith and love,
and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
For God has not destined us for wrath,
but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1who died for us
so that whether we are awake
or asleep we might live with him.
11 Therefore encourage one another
and build one another up,
just as you are doing.
( ESV)

So, until next time -
Keep studying your Bible,
and ask the Father to teach you through His Holy Spirit.

AMEN

The Rapture and the Last Trumpet in Old and New Testament

What is the Last Trumpet?
Is this when the Rapture occurs?

Let's take a look at the key scriptures that mention this Last Trumpet.
And notice the timing of these events
as they relate to the sound of the Last Trump.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verses 51 and 52 ( NASB )
we read,

Behold, I tell you a mystery;
we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trumpet;
for the trumpet will sound,
and the dead will be raised imperishable,
and we will be changed.

In 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 16 and 17
we read,

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God:
and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air:
and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In Revelation chapter 11 and verse 15
We see The Seventh Trumpet and the announcement that
Christ's Reign Begins

Then the seventh angel sounded
and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ;
and He will reign forever and ever."

In Matthew 24:31

And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet
and
they will gather together His elect from the four winds,
from one end of the sky to the other.

And here are some Old Testament verses
you might not have noticed or heard before:

Isaiah 18:3

All you inhabitants of the world,
you who dwell on the earth,
when a signal is raised on the mountains, look!
When a trumpet is blown, hear!

Isaiah 27:13

And in that day a great trumpet will be blown,
and those who were lost in the land of Assyria
and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt
will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

Joel 2:1

Blow a trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm on My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
For the day of the Lord is coming;
Surely it is near,

Zechariah 9:14

Then the Lord will appear over them,
And His arrow will go forth like lightning;
And the Lord God will blow the trumpet
And will march in the storm winds of the south.

To me,
it looks like the Last Trumpet is when Jesus Christ returns to Earth.
We are united with Him at this Last Trump.

And it begins the Day of the Lord
when the Wrath of God will be poured out upon the unbelievers.
It is after the 7th or Last Trumpet is blown
that we see the 7 bowls of God's Wrath
poured out upon the Earth.

Note: After the 6th bowl,
( Referencing Revelation chapter 16 verses 13 and 14 )

"unclean spirits go out to the kings of the Earth
to gather for the war
of the great day of God, the Almighty."

One theory I've heard is that the reason
they assemble at Har-Magedon
( 91 km north of Jerusalem )
to try to stop Jesus from "taking over" the world,
since He has already returned to Earth with the saints prior to the 7 bowls of wrath.

And we are told in scripture,
that His physical return will be at the Mount of Olivet
( just outside Jerusalem ).

Referencing: Acts chapter 1 verses 11 and 12

They also said,
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky?
This Jesus,
who has been taken up from you into heaven,
will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."
Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet,
which is near Jerusalem
,
a Sabbath day's journey away.

and
Zechariah chapter 14 and verse 4
we read,

In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
which is in front of Jerusalem on the east;
and the
Mount of Olives will be split
in its middle from east to west
by a very large valley,
so that half of the
mountain will move toward the north
and the other half toward the south.

We know that the elect ( saints or believers )
are protected from the bowls of wrath,
And this could be a result of them
being with Jesus,
and having their glorified spirit bodies at this time.

Scripture tells us that we are not destined for wrath,

I Thessalonians 1:10 we read,

and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.

and in
I Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 9,

For God has not destined us for wrath
but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

This may all sound kind of strange to you,
because it is not what is commonly taught.
What has been taught and  "assumed"
is that everything happens at once
or perhaps in only one day.
However
when looking at end times scriptures
we see a lot of events that will take time to transpire.

Another theory I have recent heard suggested is:

The 7 bowls of wrath could occur over the 30 days "gap"
referenced in Daniel chapter 12.
The book of Revelation clearly states
the time that the antichrist will be in power
( or have authority )
is 1260 days ( or 42 months )
see Revelation 13:5.

But in Daniel chapter 12;
we have a reference to 1290 days
as time for the final end ( or outcome ) of the events.
Also,
we are told that those who keep waiting until day 1,335
will be Blessed.

This implys that
something will be going on
before the Millennial Kingdom officially starts.

There are a lot of "hints" of various things that might be transpiring
found in the words of the Old Testament Prophets.
Worthy of a post of their own.

For now,
let me encourage you to keep studying and praying
for a clear understanding from God.
And to be
EAGERLY AWAITING
the coming of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ.

Maranatha,
Amen.

Eagerly Waiting the Return of Jesus Christ to this Earth

In the New Testament, we find the apostle Paul writing that we should be eagerly awaiting the Return of Jesus Christ ( which occurs at the post-trib rapture event ).

Referencing
1 Corinthians. 1:7,

so that you are not lacking in any gift,
as you eagerly await the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

 Romans 8:23, 25

And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves,
waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.
24For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? 25But if we hope for what we do not see,
with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

Philippians 3:20-21

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also
we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

We should be looking forward to our gathering together to be with Him,
and our resurrection or transformation that is going to happen upon His Return
( when He comes to Rule and Reign on the Earth see: Rev. 11:15-19).

Are you EAGERLY AWAITING His Return?
